Play England 2026 Annual General Meeting
Play England will hold its 2026 Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Thursday 8 October 2026, from 14:00–15:00, at the University of Warwick.
The AGM forms part of our National Play Conference and Awards programme, taking place on 8–9 October 2026.
Purpose of the AGM
The AGM will present Play England’s Annual Report and Accounts for the year ending 31 March 2026. In line with our Memorandum & Articles, the Board, as the Full Members of the Charity, will be asked to approve the Annual Report and Accounts.
The AGM will also mark the final stage of the governance transition agreed by members at our 2024 AGM.
Members will first be asked to consider and adopt the revised Memorandum and Articles of Association (2026) by Special Resolution. The revised Articles provide the constitutional framework for the next stage of our Board arrangements.
Following adoption of the revised Memorandum & Articles, the AGM will consider the appointment of our new Independent Director (Trustee) – Treasurer, following the open recruitment process undertaken earlier this year.
The AGM will then consider nominations and elect Elected Directors (Trustees). The election forms the final part of our transition to the new Board structure, with Elected Directors working alongside our Independent Chair, Senior Independent Director and Independent Directors. Nominations for the two positions opened on 31 July and close at 17:00 on 18 September 2026. The successful candidates will be elected by Full Members at the AGM.
