How to involve children and young people in designing and developing play spaces

Together with Play England, Participation Works has developed a How To guide aimed at all those involved in designing and developing play spaces for children and young people.

The How To guide aims to support this Play Strategy investment by providing introductory advice and practice examples of how to involve children and young people at all stages of the design process.

The guide is available from Participation Works.

KIDS has also published a good practice briefing, Our play – our choice, outlining the findings of a play consultation carried out in early 2009 with disabled children, and includes signposts to useful organisations and resources on participation and inclusion.

Part of the contract from Play England as part of their work to support the delivery of the Play Strategy, this briefing complements the new Play England / Participation Works How To briefing (above) but with a specific focus on consulting with disabled children.

Our play – our choice is available from KIDS.
