Evaluation of Play England: A summary of years one to four

In 2010, NCB published a summary of an evaluation of Play England’s activities and outcomes from it first four years (2006 to 2010).

The authoritative and in-depth evaluation found that, since being launched in 2006, Play England has exceeded expectations, having a major role in the big advances in play policy, practice and delivery over this period.

Informed by interviews with a wide range of stakeholders and service users, as well as data gathered from Play England staff, government departments, the Big Lottery Fund, local authorities, and voluntary and community organisations, the report finds that Play England has achieved a lot in four years – beyond expectations in some instances.
