Possible Futures for Playwork - starting the debate
December 2007: Play England held an event for the playwork sector to debate its own future. This partnership project is designed to provide a platform for creative discussion and debate for playworkers.
Equality in play
December 2007: Play England held a free seminar to raise awareness of the need to provide play opportunities for children and young people from diverse backgrounds, and to discuss the role that play has in meeting the equalities agenda.

Play and health: Investigating the links
November/December 2007: Play England ran two free national policy seminars to investigate the potential for joint work between the play sector and children’s health services.
Children’s Play Council AGM - The future for children's play
November 2007: The Children's Commissioner for England joined us at the 2007 CPC Annual General Meeting to celebrate the launch of the revised Charter for Children's Play and find out about key projects this year.
PlayEducation conference - Schools of thought and application
October 2007: Play England offered a limited number of bursaries for playworkers and students to attend the 2007 PlayEducation conference.
Innovation in play
September 2007: Play England ran a series of free regional events to promote innovative play provision and design, and support voluntary organisations to make the most of the Big Lottery Fund Playful Ideas funding stream before it closes at the end of the year.
Playday - Our streets too!
August 2007: Playday is the annual celebration of children’s right to play – a national campaign which is now in its 20th year. Thousands of children and their families around the country get out and play at events organised by local play campaigners.
Informal recreation for young people
June, July 2007: These free policy seminars were invaluable for all those working in the play sector or involved in the planning or providing of informal recreation for young people aged 13-19.
Children's Centre and Extended Schools Show
June 2007: Play England launched a new briefing paper at this show this month, to highlight the need for play to be at the centre of planning for extended services.
Playday organisers' seminars
May, June 2007: Playday events were a great opportunity to learn about putting on an event and to meet fellow Playday organisers. The free seminars were open to anyone interested in organising a Playday whether you're new to Playday or celebrating your 20th event this year.
Charter for Children's Play review consultation events
March 2007: Play England invited all those with an interest in children's play to contribute to the review of the Charter for Children's Play - the document which informs the direction and purpose of the Children's Play Council and Play England's work.
Rural and forest play
November 2006 - March 2007: These seminars helped participants to plan for and deliver play in rural areas through learning more about successful projects from local authority and other play sector practitioners.
November to March 2007: As part of our programme for supporting the development of local play strategies, Play England held a series of free regional seminars around the country.
