Play priorities for a new decade
November 2009: The annual members meeting was an opportunity to discuss the future priorities for Play England and hear from the Big Lottery Fund. This was followed by the launch of Tools for evaluating play provision.

Adventure play seminar for play pathfinders
September 2009: An essential seminar designed to provide exactly what play pathfinders have said that they want. The day focused on the practicalities of delivering adventure playgrounds and play parks using the direct experience of play pathfinders.

If you go down to the woods today...
September 2009: Play England, Yorkshire Play and the Forestry Commission together provided this unique event to offer the opportunity for all those involved in children’s play across the country to experience the benefits of nature play, which enables children to explore, learn, develop, be creative and discover.

Designing outdoor play environments
September 2009: Play England supported these conferences, hosted by the University of Sheffield, to develop knowledge, skills and experience of designing outdoor play environments.

Children, play and independent mobility
September 2009: The fourth Talk the Walk network event, hosted on this occasion by Play England, discussed methods for improving children's play and independent mobility in the neighbourhoods where they live.

Playday – Make time!
August 2009: Playday, the annual celebration of children's right to play. Playday is the biggest play sector event in the calendar. It’s a great opportunity for children and young people to have serious fun, and it also provides an opportunity to campaign on serious issues affecting children’s play.

Play England Council meeting
June 2009: Play England members discussed the future strategic direction for Play England at this consultation event.

Managing risk in play provision seminars
June 2009: These free national policy seminars were aimed at explaining the new approaches and how providers can strike a balance between the risk and benefits of offering children more challenging play opportunities.

Children and Young People Now show 2009
May 2009: Play England was a lead partner at this national event, run by Children and Young People Now magazine, to promote good practice and showcase key suppliers to those responsible for delivering the national Play Strategy.

Play pathfinder seminar - adventure play
May 2009: This free event is an essential seminar for play pathfinders and their delivery partners in delivering Wave 1 and Wave 2 adventure playgrounds.

The Education Show
March 2009: Play England recently exhibited at The Education Show, promoting the benefits of play in schools to over 15,000 attendees.

Local play indicators training
March 2009: The aim of the workshop was to provide Play England staff with an understanding of the local play indicators and the methods used for gathering the data that underpins each indicator.

Playday organiser seminars
March 2009: These national Playday organisers seminars aimed to help with planning and to provide guidance, new ideas and inspiration for Playday organisers.

Two-tier seminar
March 2009: This free event identified solutions and looked at how best to encourage and support joint working between top-tier, district and borough councils. It also considered how to engage town and parish councils and local communities in the play agenda.

Play England Council open meeting
February 2009: This event was a unique opportunity to hear about our recent activities and future plans, including presentations on the Play Strategy and perspectives on natural play.
