Play England has submitted its evidence to the Good Childhood Inquiry, the UK’s first independent national inquiry into childhood, managed by The Children’s Society.
Play England’s evidence is grouped under the ‘conditions for a good childhood’ theme headings, which include: families, health, friends, values, lifestyle and learning – and what challenges exist to these conditions today.
Play England’s submission describes how provision for children and young people’s play and informal recreation is essential to a good childhood and that play and informal recreation should be a central element of any government policy directed at children and children’s services.
Children’s Play Council members were asked to comment on the evidence prior to submission.
