Play England is delighted to announce Interim Executive Director

Play England is delighted to announce the temporary engagement of Eugene Minogue as (Interim) Executive Director.

Although we are only getting a small share of Eugene on a consultancy basis, he brings to Play England extensive experience from several leadership roles, having worked in the play and sport sector for the past 25 years – across various Local Government roles, as CEO of Parkour UK, and for Sport England. He has also been a member of the Play Safety Forum and British Standards Committee for playground equipment. His in-depth knowledge of the play sector gives him a unique perspective, enabling him to provide inspiration, leadership, and strategic vision to Play England and the wider play sector.

Eugene shares our passion for play and his eyes will be firmly focused on the external horizon and getting play on the national agenda by strengthening our relationships with government departments as well as with national strategic partners including Sport England and Active Travel England. Through raising vital funding, he will spend his time with us driving forward and implementing a new national strategic plan and talking about play to as many people as will listen!
